INTO A STRANGER'S HANDS.
Two older boys were ahead of him before his turn in the big chair. When driving to the barber shop Dad told him that Mr. Domann had raised two daughters so that he had "a gentle hand."
When they got to the place and they were sitting watching the other boys get their hair cut he asked Mr. Domann again how many daughter he had. Mr. Domann said, "two." Dad looked at him and winked while looking over the newspaper.
He watched as two old men came in dressed in farmer's clothes and sat down watching the boys get their hair cut. When it was his turn to climb into the big chair Dad told Mr. Domann that he "wasn't a farmhand" and "he could leave some hair to style with around the cowlick."
He had a small audience now and was mildly interested in getting his hair cut for the first time without his grandmother's hands.
